Although Dubrovnik, Croatia is almost synonymous with its stunningly beautiful walled Old Town, there are still plenty of things to do and sights to see outside of the old walls. It is undeniable that a full exploration of the Old Town takes several days to achieve; however, one needs to take a break from all the cobble stones and impressive architecture you’ll see inside.

The latter frequently hosts concerts, theatre performances and film showings. You may also be interested to know that Lazareti was in fact an old quarantine hospital transformed into one of the most thrilling night scenes in the city.
Finally, Dubrovnik is a strategic jump-off point for other exciting Adriatic islands getaway. You can charter a yacht to any of the popular island-destinations of Elaphite, Mljet, Korcula and Peljeac. However, if you wish for a no-frills daytrip, hop on a ferry to the island of Lokrum.
You will be transported to this charming little island in as short as 10 minutes. Lokrum was declared as a nature park reserve. Enjoy its beautiful beaches, colorful botanical gardens and the spectacular view of Dubrovnik right across the island.
