Yuen Ho Sang established as Director-General-Jetstar Asia

Jetstar has appointed Mr. Ho Yuen Sang to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Jetstar Asia to support the carrier's growth from Singapore. Mr. Ho has spent the past 26 years with Singapore Technologies Group, most recently holding the position of Deputy President and Chief Operating Officer of Singapore Technologies Aerospace. Mr. Ho has a wealth of aviation engineering, maintenance and operational experience, in addition to excellent management skills from his extensive board management experience across a wide spectrum of jurisdictions.


Jetstar Asia Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Chong Phit Lian said Mr. Ho's appointment follows recent management changes at Jetstar designed to help facilitate and build upon the carrier's ability to support future growth from Singapore .as Jetstar expands its Pan Asian footprint, we are focussing on building our expertise and skill base here in Singapore, the brand s Asian hub, Ms. Chong said.We are delighted to have someone of Mr I s experience and calibre join our management team ... Mr. I s skills and experience will play a critical role in our expansion and the development of our centre of excellence in Singapore. Mr. I s appointment comes as Jetstar undertakes its largest recruitment drive since launch with plans to recruit over 100 new staff in Singapore across its business to support the growth of its hub operations.


New positions will be created across the business including new Pilot and Cabin crew positions, Engineers and Technicians and Head Office positions. The new roles will support a further two A320 aircraft joining the Jetstar Asia fleet of 10 this year plus will help support of the introduction of first time long haul flying from Singapore which will commence in December with direct flights to Melbourne. Jetstar is currently recruiting for Cabin Crew, Pilots (Captains) and Line Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.
