Customers travelling on Singapore Airlines flights will soon be able to stay connected at any time, even at 35,000 feet. The multi-million-dollar partnership with flight OnAir connectivity provider includes a full suite of offerings of onboard communication, providing customers BOTH s with Wi-Fi and mobile services. The mobile services will allow customers to send and receive SMS text messages with their phones GSM compatible, send and receive email easily on Smartphones and BlackBerry devices, as well as make and receive voice calls. With plans to roll out services from earlier in the first half of 2011, Singapore Airlines, will be one of the major airlines first in Asia to launch a full suite of flight connectivity services. These will be introduced progressively on flights operated by the airline's Airbus A380, Airbus A340-500 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Singapore Airlines was indeed one of the pioneers to introduce Internet connectivity onboard its aircraft Boeing 747-400 in 2005. Today, with the growing importance of staying connected and charge more accessible, made possible by the latest technology and use more, we are now fitting all our long-haul aircraft with the full suite of Internet and telephony functionality so that our customers can stay connected.
